Goa

Goa is India's smallest state of west coast. It has a unique mix of Indian and Portuguese culture and architecture. Goan culture has been shaped mainly by the Hindu And Catholic population. The best time to visit Goa is November to February at that time weather is dry and pleasant. In summers Goa is humid. 

Goa is a great place for adventure lovers and beach goers. Goa offers all major water sports like para-sailing, Boat ride, Jet ski, banana boat ride etc. There are nice local restaurants and bars. Goa is very famous for cashews. You will get different variety of flavors in cashews. And one more thing is Kokum syrup which you can dissolve in water and use as drink which is very good in summer.

Goa is connected by Air, Rail and Road so you can easily reach there.

By Flight

Dabolim Goa international airport is the only airport in the state situated in Dabolim, Goa. The airport is about 30 kms from the Panji (Capitol of Goa) and owned by the Indian Navy. The airports connect to major cities of India like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad etc. There are some international flights too. You will get can or bus outside of the airport. Most of the hotels provide pick up and drop off facility so make sure when you book hotels.

By Train

In Goa there are two major railway stations. One is Margo and other is Vasco-da-Gama. Both stations are located in the southern area of the state.Goa is connected with Mumbai by daily train. The high speed Konkan railways take 8-9 hrs from Mumbai other normal railway takes 10-12 hrs. There are trains for Delhi as well as Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.

By Road

Goa is connected with major towns in India via National Highways NH4A, NH17 and NH17A. There are public and private bus services for Goa from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Mangalore, Ahmedabad etc. You can take your own car and drive till Goa.

Tip to explore Goa

  • For residence you can search for hotel and if you going to be their for more than two days than you can take apartment or house on rent. 
  • If you going in group than apartment will be cheaper. And you will get some kitchen accessories in apartment so you can prepare breakfast by your own and enjoy it. 
  • There are options for rental. You can rent a car or a two wheeler. If you rent a car than you can just sit and relax as car comes with driver.
  • June to September is monsoon season so sometimes they prohibit swimming if waves are too high so make sure if you planning to visit during these months.
Places to visit in Goa


There are number of beaches in Goa which you can explore. Some of beach are silent and less crowded so if you want peace you can spend your time on South Goa beaches like Palolem Beach, Agonda Beach etc. 

On some beaches you find water activities so adventure lovers can enjoy different water activities over there like Baga beach, Calangute Beach in North Goa.

Dolphin watching trip

Dolphin watching trip is very popular among Goa tourists. These trip is provided from the various beach but Sinquerim beach is very popular for these activity. Operators gather 6 to 8 tourists for one boat and heat for the Boat ride for couple of kilometers and go to Arabian Sea you can watch dolphin if you are lucky enough, jail of Goa and Million place. We were lucky enough to see diving dolphin but couldn't able to caught the picture of whole.

Baga Beach:-

Baga beach is one of the most famous beach in north Goa. It has clean long sand stretch where you can sit and enjoy waves of the sea. You can play with water and make palace of sand. There are enough restaurants and bar so you don't have to worry about food and drinks. You can spend at least half day to relax at these beach.

Calangute Beach:-


Calangute is next to the Baga beach. Picture itself shows how much crowded it is. People enjoy high waves and swimming on these beach. You can sit on sand and relax if you don't want to swim.

In north Goa on Baga and Calangute beach you can find water sports like Parashailing, Jet ski etc. You can find restaurant over there. you can eat and enjoy sea waves at these beach.

Basilica of Bom Jesus

The 'Basilica Bom Jesus' is located in Old Goa; is a UNESCO world heritage site. These church called "Bom Jesus" means "Good Jesus" or "infant Jesus". It is one of the best example of Baroque architecture in Goa. The Basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier who founded the Society of Jesus in Goa.

Panji:-

Panji is the capital of Goa. "Panji" means "land that never floods". In Panji you can visit Panji market, River side of Panji and Our lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. You can enjoy sunset cruise in Panji which can take you to the river water for one hour. You can enjoy cultural performance of Goa on cruise trip.

Dauna Paula Beach:-

If you remember the movie "Singam" than you can visualize the scene in which "Ajay Devagan broke the pole light and fight with the gangsters. That  scene had been pictured at these place. You can not enjoy in water on these beach but you can  enjoy water scooter. It has small shops along the walk way, so you can explore or do shopping.


Dauna Paula Beach

Palolem Beach:-

It is in South Goa and about 40 minutes from Margao.  Palolem beach is very neat and clean compare to other  beaches. You find less crowd over there very silent beach. While you going to Palolem Beach you can see the cashew tree. and cashew farms. I really like these beach because it made me feel like its private beach. These is beast beach among all.

Anjuna Beach and Chapora Fort:-

Anjuna beach is in north from Baga beach. There is no water sports on Anjuna beach and you will not find any restaurants on the beach you have to come out towards town for restaurants. These beach is mostly for swimming and sand activities. You can climb the fort and get some amazing view of Sea waves and trees.
